Women Writing for (a) Change ~ Vermont is for women who:

  • dream of writing for self-discovery, for personal or social healing
  • hunger for creative process in their lives
  • yearn to explore their feminine voice
  • crave reflective space
  • are in transition

In Burlington since 2004, Women Writing for (a) Change - Vermont has created nurturing space for women to explore their truths, to deepen themselves as women  and as writers for change.  Our best writing is inspired by the quality of attention we bring to our lives having set our intentions to write; and by interaction with the other women in our community whose words evoke our own.  We believe that the well-being of women has a positive effect on families, communities, institutions and the planet. In our programs, writers develop their skills, strengthen their voices, enhance their health and learn to appreciate their capacity to create positive change in all spheres of life.

Women Writing for (a) Change - Vermont is a proud sponsor of the
Voices Project Movie, filmed during summer 2007 and due for release in spring 2008. The musical, created by and for Vermont teens through extensive interviews, personal writings and songs, toured the state in 2004 to such acclaim that it has now been turned into the 'real' high school musical feature film, SHOUT IT OUT!

We are also proud to co-sponsor Bella Voce, the women's chorus of Vermont whose creativity, programs and collaborations provide artistic value and enhanced musical knowledge to members and audiences alike.
